Crossing over that many versions may or may not work, but I'd give it a try. Because that was so old I got a new CD image. With the old one I only needed the Or leave a small partition on the hard drive, and copy the installer files to that location and do a hard drive -based install. Afterwards you can reclaim

What's hard to believe about that? If youv'e successfully saved your jpg to the server hard drive then you can skip the database code I listed and instead .... it to c:\inetpub\wwwroot\myproject\mycurrentpic.jpg but that > save won't even work on my dev box as it gets a GDI + exception but this is > really another

Building a custom A/V workstation - lots of questions
You see, whether your life hands you the drive and skills or not is totally out of your control. I know you don't LIKE that, but if you don't believe it then please explain all these impoverished people in the world. Unless you're a racist you won't be maintaining that it is inherited. And that means it is the luck

New Hard Drive
My intention was to use the SATA interface with the Seriall adapter for the hard drive. Why? Well, for one it's there and it might even be a bit faster. Told you before, it's a bit slower than using a proper parallel interface, and if you disable the HPT374, it won't work at all. Who knows.

Computer Failure
The guy tried to intimidate her by telling her he was a retired hit man; he tried to prevent her from leaving; and then wouldn't let her take her belongings with her--she had to come back with someone else later, and even then only got about half--they had "disposed" of some of them, and had copied her hard drive

Zip Drive Wreaks Havoc
Big Fat CONJECTURE. m Well, you continue to believe that because you didn't have the accident, you likely won't, and I will continue to believe that just so I have no idea why I had the accident instead of avoiding it, like we have all done, and continue to do, as a matter of course, every time we drive.

Zip Drive slows Hard Disk?
If
your Windows 2000 installation is on the first partition of the first hard drive, then you don't actually need a boot.ini. The boot process will assume the drive letter c). If the first installation still won't boot, you could use this new installation to backup your files. Tried it. Got the same result. 7.

If add a 1MB partition to the C (logical) drive for boot manager as suggested by the "Unleashed" book won't that make it the F logical drive? Most of your confusion is related to understanding how HD's work on Intel machines. It is only because OS/2 breaks the artifical restriction that C: must be booted,

Help! I've got a SCSI problem you won't believe.
The USR Winmodem (at least mine) won't work if the 8-bit/16-bit wait states are too high. I didn't play around with it, but when I went to 100 and 112 mhz, After all that, I finally got it running, loaded all my drivers (which went fairly smooth) (TIP: copy your windows directory to another drive or rename it

NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
I would rather work on a TRS-80 than any mac for web development. I don't know anything about ODBC and SQL. I thought most web sites were designed on Macs. I got an Linksys 10/100Base-T Ethernet white boxed version (oem) for 14.99. I don't find it hard to believe you can get the above price through auction

Maarten Maybe for you, it can't. But the "modern PC" is only running a 300mhz Pentium with a 14 gig hard drive and 128 meg of RAM because Windoze is such a bloated PIG of an operating system that it needs those kinds of resources to work at all. I remember reading that Windoze98 requires something like 180 meg of

Dirty SCSI hard drive & Trap D's in OS/2
I don't believe I'm safe from getting a ticket. Although I hope I won't, it's not 100%. If it were, I'd probably abuse the situation too. I have seen officers working the church traffic details and they don't work it any differently than any other large event where roads and highways are temporarily overwhelmed

Thinkpad 560 hard disk upgrade
Other times (particularly for lasers), it won't work with Linux driving the printer, period. If these are PCL or PostScript printers, though, you should have no so you don't need much documentation if you go this route -- but that would also require installing X, which may be too much for your small hard disks.

So now I've got 8gb of space. Awesome. -> Rhapsody should have had nothing to do with it. I could try reformatting and boot from CD to see what happens, but it's going to be a lot of work to reinstall my apps etc... , and if I have to spend all weekend just reinstalling them all on 2000 because XP still refuses then I won't be very happy :-( I've got one idea, which is to 'borrow' somebody else's Win98

I was hoping I would be able to remove the 2nd hard drive from the developement PC and put it in the target PC (to be the 1st disk, I did set the settings in the project to recognise the HD as C:\), but it didn't work. I presume because the 2nd hard drive isn't bootable? So the question is, how would I make the 2nd

TMT and 'real' data (was: [LAW] Re: LDRS 17 Report)
If your hard drive is getting ready to go belly up, then the first thing I'd do is get a backup going using NTBackup or whatever is provided with your operating system, which I don't believe you identified. GEt your important stuff first: You can always reload Windows and Office or whatever other apps you may have,

Since the DAP files only average around 30K each -- 200 files wouldn't be more than 6Mb. I dunno -- I thought Tripoli bought
